On Thursday 7 July 2016 Shout Out Leeds volunteers visited the East Leeds Youth Theatre group.
The East Leeds Youth Theatre is a weekly after school provision for young people in Leeds, it runs every Thursday evening during term time at Parklands Primary School, 5-7pm.
This year East Leeds Youth Theatre have been invited to create a short drama piece on mental health and stigma/discrimination for the Head Space event at the Leeds Music College on Thursday 13 October 2016 7pm.
Shout Out facilitator Emma James and 4 Shout Out volunteers attended the youth theatre session on 7 July to run a workshop on mental health and stigma/discrimination. The aim of this workshop was to support the theatre group in their research about mental health and provide personal support and testimonies that they can incorporate into their drama work this year.
During September 2016 Shout Out Leeds will revisit the group to see their progress on this piece of drama work.
